OFFICE DESIGN
Law offices are always a challenge.
We need a lot of storage for books and files, but can't end up having an office where books take up all the attention. In this one we decided to use book cases as our highlights on walls and as space dividers. This helped in making the space look open despite of being able to accommodate both the leather bound books which are synonymous with lawyers and the "not so presentable" files, which were all accommodated behind closed shutters.
Another highlight of this office was that though it was in the basement, we managed to dig a sunken court to include big and huge windows in the cabins and meeting rooms. All the other rooms also had windows where everyone could take a glimpse outside and align themselves to the time of the day. A visual connection with the outside was given prime importance considering its role in the mental well being of the occupants.
